Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect in a first session?
Before starting therapy, we’ll begin with a free 15 minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
In early sessions, you’re welcome to bring a specific event or issue you'd like to explore, or we can start more broadly. I might ask questions like:
Where are you at now, and what brought you here?
What was modelled for you in the household you grew up in?
How do you tend to relate to others?
What’s your relationship with grief, conflict, or anger?
From there, we follow what feels important to you. Sessions may include structured conversation, open-ended exploration, or creative expression , depending on your needs..
How long are sessions?
Individual sessions: 60 minutes
Couples sessions: Often 60 or 90 minutes, depending on your preference
Group sessions: 90 minutes
What kind of clients do you work with?
I work with individuals (youth and adults), couples, and groups. My practice welcomes clients from diverse backgrounds, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and neurodivergent folks. My approach is relational, intersectional, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive.
What approaches do you use?
I draw from:
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Narrative therapy
Mindfulness
Art Based Therapy
My approach is integrative, meaning I tailor sessions to your unique needs and goals.
Do I need to be good at art to try art-based therapy?
Not at all. Art-making in therapy isn’t about skill or aesthetics. Images are simply another language we can use to reflect, process, or express what’s hard to put into words.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged the full session fee.
What are your hours?
My hours are flexible and shift with the seasons:
Fall/Winter: More evening and weekend availability
Spring/Summer: More morning and daytime openings
I aim to accommodate a range of schedules and am happy to discuss what might work best for you.
How do I book a session?
Start by booking a free 20-minute consultation. This gives us a chance to meet, talk about what you're looking for, and see if we feel like a good match.
Do you offer virtual therapy?
Yes — all sessions are offered virtually via Jane, a secure video and audio platform designed for healthcare. I offer both video and telephone sessions.
What payment methods do you accept?
Preferred: Credit card (processed securely through Jane)
After payment, you'll receive a receipt to submit to your insurance provider.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not offer direct billing. Most insurance plans that cover Registered Psychotherapists (RPs) will reimburse you. Please check with your insurance provider to confirm if they cover RPs.
